What does it take to turn an idea into a TV show? Africa No Filter Academy Presents: From pitch to TV Show with Multichoice is a deep dive into the world of television. It will be delivered by Sanele Shibe, a commissioning editor at Multichoice, in a fireside chat with Africa No Filter’s grants lead, Victor Mark-Onyegbu. Shibe will help you understand storytelling for TV, the kind of content that broadcasters are looking for, and share his expertise on how you can empower yourself with skills and networks, and how to connect to other storytellers.

Shibe studied Audiovisual Production at the University of Johannesburg. He has worked as an on-air graphic operator and at M-Net Movies as a Local Content Acquisitions specialist. His notable achievements as a junior commissioning editor at M-Net include working on SAFTA winning movies, and creating and executing a movie strategy which saw the movies get in excess of 800 000 live viewers, making it the number movie one slot on DStv. He has also worked on The River Season 5 and 6, Isifiso, eHostela Seasons 1 to 3, Lingashoni, Umkhokha, Entangled, and Shaka Ilembe. He has also worked on Showmax films such as uMakoti Wethu, Welcome to the Family, and Induku.
