Zain Verjee

Zain Verjee is one of the world’s most respected journalists, and an esteemed interviewer who has spoken to leading politicians and artists. She spent 14 years at CNN, covering assignments including the attacks on the World Trade Centre in New York on September 11, the Iraq War, Kenya’s post-election violence, the fall of Moammar Gadhafi, and the terrorist attack at Kenya’s Westgate Mall. She worked as a newsreader for The Situation Room, as a State Department correspondent, and as a co-anchor of CNN International’s Your World Today with Jim Clancy.

Her production company, Zain Verjee Group, is based in New York and Nairobi. Zain is also a writer who has published a children’s book and a poetry collection.
