We do this through our annual convening, the Africa No Filter Academy and Webinars that unpack insights from our groundbreaking Narrative research.
Naija Now! Shaping Nigeria’s future through authentic storytelling
TAfrica No Filter brought together influential voices in media, storytelling, and creative industries to explore how we can collectively shape Nigeria’s narrative through the NaijaNow initiative, a partnership with Yellow Brick Road.

Africa No Filter Summit 2023
What happens when you bring together a community of more than 100 storytellers, artists and funders who are passionate about shifting stereotypical narratives of Africa? The Africa No Filter is coming to Nairobi on 8 - 10 November. The event will bring together our community of content creators, artists, journalists, funders, partners as well as arts, culture and media organizations to celebrate the continent's creativity and innovations.
The Africa No Filter Great Debate 2023
The Africa No Filter Great Debate brought together journalists, storytellers, donors, executives, NGO decision-makers and other influential minds to unpack how Africa is portrayed in the U.S. — from media and pop culture to development communications.
Johannesburg Meeting – January 2023
For the first time in Africa No Filter’s existence, the ANF team came together from all over the continent to meet in Johannesburg. We took the opportunity to meet with some of our partners, funders, vendors and community in South Africa who have cheered us on as we have grown into our own space and mission.
The Africa No Filter Summit 2020
Africa No Filter’s first convening, held on 26 February 2020 in Johannesburg, brought together intellectuals, creatives, leaders and luminaries from business, art, culture and media to discuss the true cost of a detrimental narrative, why we must change this narrative now – and how we can do it together.
